2006 Season: Skara started all 21 games as a junior, giving the defender 41 consecutive starts which dates back to the 2005 campaign. He has become one of the top defenders in the conference, earning first team All-MAAC accolades a year ago. He capped his junior season by earning the 2006 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year award. Under his guidance, the Fairfield defense yielded just 18 goals in 21 contests which translated into 0.84 goals allowed per game. Skara helped the team post six shutouts during the year. Although a defender by trade, Skara did contribute offensively on occasion. He tallied his only points of the 2006 campaign with an assist in a 2-1 win at Saint Peter's.
2005 Season: Skara comes off a solid sophomore season as a defender, which was capped by his berth to the All-MAAC second team. His defensive skills placed him in the starting lineup for all 20 games a year ago, which raised his career total to 23 starts. He secured his first career point with an assist in the team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Marist in the MAAC tournament championship game. The defender was part of a unit that allowed just 12 goals in 20 games last season, which ranked fifth in the nation by yielding just 0.58 goals per game.
2004 Season: Skara gained a starting role in his first collegiate game, a 1-1 tie against Columbia University. He came off the bench in his next three games, before rejoining the starting lineup against Harvard and Yale in back-to-back outings. The defender finished up the campaign with minutes against Manhattan. He tallied a pair of shots during his freshman season (Adelphi and Harvard). Skara spent his season as one of the team's defenders, providing depth at a position which allowed just 19 goals in 16 games.
Before Fairfield: As a central defender at Greenwich High School, Skara received All-Conference and All-Connecticut honors. He was named team captain for his senior campaign. On the club level, Skara spent his entire career with the Beachside Soccer Club. The team finished the 2003 season with a 25-3 record. He served Beachside as captain for several seasons.
