FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Jean Fauchet (Concord, Mass.) earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week after helping the men's soccer team post a 1-1 week against conference opponents. The Stags defeated Canisius College by a 2-1 score, and came up short against Niagara University by a 3-2 count.

            In the Canisius contest, Fauchet tallied the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. He received a cross from Christian Uy about 20 yards from goal. Fauchet volleyed a shot that cleared the diving goalkeeper, but just ducked under the cross bar. The goal was Fauchet's first career points at Fairfield University.

            Two days later, Fauchet tallied the team's first goal of the game that gave the Stags a 1-0 lead just five minutes into the contest. In the two games, Fauchet took three shots and connected on two of those attempts.

            The Fairfield University men's soccer team, under Head Coach Carl Rees, owns an 8-4-2 overall record and a 3-2-1 MAAC mark. The Stags return to action with a pair of road games this weekend, heading to Siena College on October 26 and Marist College on October 28.
