
Stags Edged In MAAC Tourney Semi-Final By Saint Peter's, 2-1

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Tucker Nathan's goal gave the men's soccer an early lead, but Saint Peter's answered with two unanswered goals to lift Saint Peter's College to a 2-1 win over the Stags in the MAAC tournament semi-finals at Disney's Wide World of Sports.
Fairfield opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Erik Ilisije headed the ball into the center of the box, which Tucker Nathans put the ball into the corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead. The advantage stayed intact until Saint Peter's tallied the tying goal with under a minute remaining in the opening half.
Victor Prada carried the ball into the box, and created opened space from the left side of the box. After clearing his defender, Prada released a shot that caught the upper right corner of the goal to make the score 1-1. Udi Naim set up the game-winning goal late in the second half, heading the ball into the direction of Juan Gaviria. Gaviria placed the ball into the upper corner to give the Peacocks the winning margin.
Saint Peter's held a slight edge in shots, outshooting the Stags by a 10-8 margin. Fairfield goalkeeper Jon Paul Francini made one save in the game, while Saint Peter's Matthew Lawlor registered two stops.
