POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Four first-half goals lifted Marist College to a 4-0 win over the Stags soccer team. The Red Foxes scored all four of their goals in a 20-minute span of the opening half.
Joe Touloumis opened the scoring when he accepted a pass in the box and went in one-on-one with goalkeeper Matt Cleveland. Touloumis pushed the ball past a charging Cleveland to put the home team in front, 1-0. Shareif Ali made the score 2-0 when he converted a penalty kick in the 23rd minute.
Jamison Allegra scored the next two Marist goals, giving him three for the season, with the first coming at 30:20 when he broke free into the box and went one-on-one with Cleveland. He beat the sophomore high to improve Marist's advantage to 3-0. Allegra was credited with the team's final goal when his shot deflected off the goalkeeper and into the net just four minutes later.
