David Thomas begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Fairfield University program. Thomas joined the coaching staff following his senior season with the Stags soccer team.
Thomas became a member of the coaching staff after spending
four years as a member of the Stags soccer team, beginning with the
2001 campaign. He played in 69 contests throughout his career, and
helped the program reach a school high #12 NSCAA National ranking.
During his stay, the Stags won 34 games and posted an impressive
23-10-3 mark in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
Fairfield enjoyed success as a team during his career,
advancing to the conference tournament in each of his four seasons.
Thomas helped the Stags captured the 2005 MAAC regular-season
championship, courtesy of an unbeaten conference record (8-0-1).
Prior to Fairfield Thomas played his youth soccer with
Huddersfield Town FC Academy, while a attending Whitcliffe Mount
High school advancing to the 1999 National semi-final. Thomas also
spent 5 years representing his district.
In addition to his coaching duties at Fairfield University
Thomas coaches premier and club teams in the Fairfield County area.
He also serves as an assistant director of the Planet Soccer and
Elite Academy camps at Fairfield University.
Thomas currently holds is NSCAA Advanced National Diploma,
and is pursuing a Masters in Education.
