JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- It's not how you start games that matters, it's how you finish them that really counts. Head Coach Carl Rees watched his Stags give up a goal in the opening two minutes, but rally to win the game for the second time this year. The team did it in late September against two-time defending Ivy League champion Dartmouth, did it again this afternoon. This time, Christian Uy tallied the game-winning goal in the second overtime to post a 2-1 decision over Saint Peter's and extend the Stags conference unbeaten streak to 14 games (13-0-1).

The home team used a quick strike to grab control of the game early. Juan Gaviria knocked home the game's first goal 90 seconds into the contest, converting passes from Udi Naim and Chris DeAbreu for a 1-0 Peacock lead.

Fairfield tied the game 30 minutes later when senior Mike Troy converted a cross from Tom Skara, making the score 1-1. After being outshot in the first half by a 4-2 count, the Stags began to apply more pressure in the second half and overtime. Fairfield directed seven shots toward the Saint Peter's goal, but Matthew Lawlor kept the game tied with a few key saves.

The Stags did not relent in the overtime, outshooting Saint Peter's by a 4-1 count, with the most important shot coming off the foot of Uy. The winning goal was set up off passes from Tom Clements and Paul McQuade, ending the game in the 106th minute.

Fairfield led in most statistical categories, registering a 13-8 edge in shots and a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Stags return to action next weekend when they host Loyola College on Friday night and Rider University on Sunday afternoon. The team will honor its senior class prior to the Rider game, the last regular-season home contest of the season.
