FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Junior goalkeeper Jon Paul Francini (Oakland, N.J.) received his third Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) defensive player of the week award after leading the Stags to a pair of victories last week. He also won the award on August 28 and October 2.

Francini posted six saves and allowed one goal in the Stags 3-1 win over Yale University last Wednesday. He followed up that performance with four saves and one goal allowed in a 2-1 win over MAAC foe Iona College last Saturday. For the week, the junior posted a 1.00 goals against average and a .833 save percentage.

The goalkeeper just surpassed the 1000-minute mark for the season, checking into tonight's game with 1002 minutes played in 11 starts. He has allowed more than one goal in just one game this season. For the year, Francini has 43 saves which translates into a .811 save percentage. His goal against average is below one goal per game, registering a 0.90 average.

The Fairfield University men's soccer team, under Head Coach Carl Rees, owns an 8-2-1 overall record and is ranked 19th in the nation. The Stags host Harvard University tonight, putting their 13-game regular-season home unbeaten streak on the line.
