Berthod and Ferrante Knock Off Yale Pair at ITA Regionals

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Ryan Berthod (White Plains, N.Y.) and rookie Rob Ferrante (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) earned a huge win at the 2007 Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Men's Tennis Championships this morning by knocking off Yale, the 11th seed in doubles competition. It is the first time in recent history that Fairfield has upset an Ivy League team.

Berthod and Ferrante battled against the Bulldogs' Michael Caldwell and Connor Dawson but prevailed with an 8-6 victory. The Stags will face the Princeton pair of Ryan Kim and Ilya Trubov tomorrow.

In singles play, Berthod fell to Sacred Heart's Kiril Kasyanov.
