Glen Gannon Named MAAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn.  - Fairfield University senior Glen Gannon (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week after a stellar outing for the Stags.

Gannon went 3-1 in singles play last week. After falling to Rhode Island, he rattled off three straight wins at third and fourth singles. Against UConn, he defeated Joey Michaels, 6-3, 7-6(2). In the Stags victory against Siena, Gannon defeated Jay Godbole, 6-2, 6-2. He closed out the week with a 6-2, 6-0 decision against Hofstra's Andy Cha.

The co-captain also picked up a doubles win against Rhode Island with partner Balazs Szikla. The duo defeated Adam Gart and James McGuire, 8-5.

On the season, Gannon is 8-6 in singles play and 11-11 in doubles.

Fairfield (6-6, 1-0 MAAC) takes on Marist on April 1 before returning home to host Saint Peter's on April 2 at 3 p.m.
