HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Fairfield men's tennis team dropped its third-straight match this afternoon falling to Hofstra, 5-2. With the loss, the Stags even their record at 5-5 while the Pride improves to 2-4 on the season.

Fairfield faced some tough competition in singles action. At No. 1 singles, senior Jonathan Fernando (Verona, N.J.) fell to Luka Djodjevic, 7-5, 6-2 while freshman Ryan Berthod (White Plains, N.Y.) lost to Nenand Radkovic, 6-1, 6-2 at No 2 singles.

At No. 3 singles, Andy Cha defeated senior Zachary Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.), 6-3, 6-3. At No. 4 singles, sophomore Chip Palumbo (Winchester, Mass.) fell to Taj Alexander, 6-4, 6-1 while Matt Wacks defeated junior Balazs Szikla (Budapest, Hungary), 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. Junior Glen Gannon (Chatham, N.J.) picked up Fairfield's lone singles victory winning by default at the sixth spot.

Fairfield started the day off strong by winning the doubles point. Szikla and Gannon defeated Radakovic and Wacks, 8-5 at No. 2 singles. Fairfield secured the point at No. 3 singles winning by default.

The Stags open Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) competition tomorrow, March 25, as they travel to Saint Peter's.
