HAMDEN, Conn. - Senior co-captain Jonathan Fernando (Verona, N.J.) notched his 100th career victory and become Fairfield's career wins leader as he sophomore Chip Palumbo (Winchester, Mass.) teamed up to win Flight A doubles at the Quinnipiac Invitational.

Fernando's 100th career win came in the semifinals of Flight A when he and Palumbo downed Quinnipiac's Goldy Sherrill and Stefano Salvatore, 8-3. The duo then edged Bucknell's Ben Young and Ivan Reibeisen, 8-6, in the finals.

With his wins over the weekend, Fernando surpassed Fairfield Hall of Famer Mike McCann's total of 96 career victories.

In the consolation round of Flight B, Zachary Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola) defeated Fairleigh Dickinson's Alexander Nace, 8-4.

Fairfield is back in action October 20-23 as it heads to the University of Pennsylvania for the ITA Northeast Regional Championships.
