FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield University men's and women's tennis Head Coach Jeff Wyshner announced the 2006-07 men's and women's tennis schedules this afternoon. Both teams begin the campaign with the fifth annual Fairfield Doubles Festival Saturday and Sunday, September 9-10. This doubles only tournament kicks off the slate for both teams.

Women
Following the Doubles Festival on September 9, the women's team travels to the grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, in Newport, R.I., for the ECAC Open Championships, September 16-17.
The women's team will stay in the State of Rhode Island for the University of Rhode Island Shootout, September 23-24.
Then, for the third consecutive season, the Stags will host the New England Championships, October 14-15. The fall portion of the schedule will conclude October 21-24 at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships at Dartmouth College.
The spring schedule begins with a dual match at the University of Hartford on February 3.
Men
The men's team begins the season on September 10 with the Doubles Festival. Then on the weekend of September 23-24, the Stags will look to defend their ECAC North Open Championship at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The Stags will stay in-state for the next two tournaments, beginning with the UConn Invitational, September 29 through October 1. Then, on the weekend of October 13-15, the Stags will take part in the Quinnipiac Invitational.
The falls season, concludes with the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, October 20-24 at the University of Pennsylvania.
The spring season begins with a dual match against the University of Hartford on January 27.
Both team reached the semifinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships, last season. The men's team finished 2005-06 with a 12-10 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the MAAC. At one point in the season, the Stags had a school-record 10-match win streak.
The women's team finished the season with a 10-14 overall record and a 3-4 MAAC record, the Stags won their first-round MAAC Championship match against Loyola, 6-1.
