Nov 27, 2007

The Fairfield University (game notes) women's basketball team heads to Philadelphia, Pa., for the final game of a four-game road swing at Villanova on Wednesday.  The Stags are 5-0 entering the game, while the host Wildcats are 4-1 on the year.  The game will be broadcast live on WVOF 88.5 FM, and fans can access the webcast by visiting the Stags Watch/Listen page

The Stags are one of 30 division I women's basketball teams to remain undefeated through games of the weekend, though two have not played, according to ESPN.com.  Fairfield is the only MAAC school to enter the week without a loss.

Sabra Wrice has averaged 24.0 points per game the last two outings in earning MVP honors at the Cal-Poly Holiday Beach Classic.  Stephanie Geehan has recorded double-doubles in two of the last three games, while Baendu Lowenthal had her first double-double of the year against Cal-Poly.  Lowenthal ranks fifth in the MAAC in scoring, sixth in rebounding and first in field goal percentage.

The Stags will return home following the contest with Villanova to take on Maine, at Alumni Hall on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.  That game will be video cast online via B2 Networks, and fans can listen live at WVOF 88.5 FM.  For more information click here.
