Stags Begin MAAC Play With Friday Evening Trip To Saint Peter's

The Fairfield University women's basketball team (game notes) will kick of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play on Friday, Dec. 7, with a 7 p.m. contest at Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, N.J.  The Stags are 6-1 overall, while the Peahens are 5-2.

The Stags are coming off their highest offensive output of the year, a 76-54 win over Maine at Alumni Hall on Sunday.  The team has been off for four days, its longest break since the season began.

Stephanie Geehan has three double-doubles this season, all coming in the last five games.  She is leading the team with 9.3 boards per game and is third averaging 8.9 points a contest.  Baendu Lowenthal is shooting 59 percent, 49-93, from the field, a number that ranks 21st in the nation, through games of Dec. 2.

After the contest with the Peahens, the Stags will return home on Sunday, to kickoff a three-game homestand, hosting MAAC foe Marist at 1 p.m. at Alumni Hall
