Fairfield Raises $1,300 For Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund At Think Pink
Feb 27, 2008
The Fairfield University Department of Athletics participated in
the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Think Pink
initiative at the basketball double-headers on Saturday, Feb.
16. The women’s basketball team defeated Siena, 60-57,
while the men knocked off Rider, 88-76, in front of 2,971.
The event was held to raise awareness of breast cancer, as well as
help raise funds for the cause. The Stags selected the Kay
Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund as the charity to donate to after the
event. Fairfield fans came out in full force for the event,
and the Stags raised $1,300.50.
Fairfield was one of over 1,100 institutions to participate in the
Think Pink event. The events held around the nation, have
raised nearly half a million dollars to various charities in the
fight against breast cancer.
The Department of Athletics would like to express it thanks to all
the fans that attended the Think Pink games and those who
contributed to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. For more
