Women's Hoops Returns To Action Versus Wagner At Blue Sky Classic

The Fairfield University women's basketball team returns to action on Monday, Dec. 29, when it takes on Wagner College in the opening game of the Blue Sky Classic at Dartmouth College.  The Stags, who have not played in eight days, are 5-5 on the year, while the Seahawks are 4-5 overall.  Dartmouth and Boston College will meet in the other game, with the winners and losers playing on Tuesday.  The consolation game will be at 5 p.m., followed by the title game.

John Cummings will have the call of both of the Stags contests on WVOF 88.5 FM.  The Stags radio feed is also set to be the audio of the videostream being offered by Dartmouth, for the game versus Wagner.  All four games of the tournament will have video and livestats offered.

Fairfield enters the game having won its last outing, 64-56, at Maine on Dec. 21.  Stephanie Geehan had 12 points and 11 boards for her second double-double of the year, to lead the team.  Desiree Pina had 11 points and Lauren Groom had 10, combining for 19 second-half points, in the win.
