PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The novice 4 and the varsity 4 both competed in the prestigious Dad Vails on Saturday, with both teams performing well. The novice 4 took second in its respective final, while the varsity 4 garnered second in its semi-final heat.

The novice 4, comprised of coxswain Sandy Wrinn, Jennifer White, Bethany Hemingway, Marueen Sullivan and Ellen Dunleavy, coasted through its qualifying races to advance to the event final. The foursome finished the final race with a time of 7:45, just three seconds off the winner University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.

In varsity action, the Stags 4 took second place in its head, which sent it to the semi-final race. Fairfield secured fifth place in the semi-final heat with a time of 7:52, but it was not fast enough to qualify for the final. The varsity 4 included coxswain Samantha Lombardi, Katie Gill, Caitlin Bakum, Kathleen Bradler and Andrea Bazos.
