CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The varsity and lightweight 8 teams competed in the Head of the Charles, with the two boats finishing in the middle of the pack.

The varsity 8 finished 21st in a field of 34 boats, crossing the line with a time of 18:28.49. The Stags squad included coxswain Samantha Lombardi, stroke Caitlin Bakum, Kathleen Bradler, Erin Schuling, Katie Gill, Mary Claire Finnen, Andrea Bazos, Heidi Bentsen and bow Sarah Bachman.

The lightweight 8, which included coxswain Katie Molteni, stroke Amy Ferguson, Carolyn Stankiewicz, Maura O'Connor, Carolyn Arnold, Alyssa Aurisy, Sandi Wrinn, Katy Jonaitis and bow Marjorie Powers, finished 23rd with a time of 21:11.51 as two novices filled in.

"The varsity performed well in the inaugural Collegiate 8 race at the Charles," Head Coach Andre Albert said. "While the placement was not high, the team finished just 65 seconds off of first place."
