Shelton, Conn. -- Head Coach Andre Albert watched his team dominate its only home date of the season, as the Stags hosted Iona, Sacred Heart, Amherst, UConn and UMass on April 7. Both the novice and varsity boats won their respective races, helping the Stags sweep the 4+ and 8+ events.

The novice 4+ opened the day with a first and second place finish - the "A" winning in 8:04 and the "B" taking second in 8:18. The "A" included coxswain Becky Post, stroke Erin Casey, Christine Dolliver, Danielle Koziura and bow Andrea Bazos. The "B" boat consisted of coxswain Clare Friedwall, stroke Aileen Rueter, Lisa Donovan, Erin Morris and bow Laurie Beezer.

The novice 8+ placed two boats in the top three, with the "A", namely coxswain Danielle Koziura, stroke Mary Finnen, Erica Connolly, Erin Schuling, Christine Dolliver, Christina Palladino, Andrea Bazos, Erin Casey and bow Emily Duffett, taking first place in 7:03. The "B" shell crossed the line third, finishing the course in 7:17, with the efforts of coxswain Becky Post, stroke Maura O'Connor, Laura Shannon, Lauren Brady, Debra Clooney, Lindsey Roskowski, Liz Borella, Meghan Magura and bow Nicole Trapilo.

Fairfield again swept the top two spots in a race, as the varsity 4 "A" boat won with a time of 7:09, as coxswain Samantha Lombardi, stroke Amy Ferguson, Katie Gill, Bethany Dominick and bow Leigh Terry paced the team. The "B" boat was not far behind, taking second place with a time of 7:24. The "B" squad listed coxswain Jen Akunowicz, stroke Caitlin Bakum, Kathleen Bradler, Aimee Wagner and bow Vanessa Wrenn.

The varsity 8+ coasted to a win in its race, finishing 14 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Amherst. The "A" boat claimed first with a time of 6:56, while the "B" boat was third in the event with a time of 7:25. The A lineup was coxswain Jessica DeMarco, stroke Amy Ferguson, Kathleen Bradler, Christine Opiela, Katie Gill, Bethany Dominick, Elizabeth Strain, Patty Campbell and bow Leigh Terry. The B boat included coxswain Jen Akunowicz, Anne Cooney, Reagen Smith, Caitlin Bakum, Kristen Handalian, Jacqueline Dyer, Vanessa Wrenn, Aimee Wagner, Francis Millar.
