Fairfield, Conn. -- The Fairfield University crew team will look to improve on its third-place finish at last year's MAAC championships this weekend, as the Stags and five other MAAC schools converge on the Housatonic River for the 2000 MAAC crew championships on April 30. The Enterprise Yacht Sales Marina on Rt. 110 in Shelton will serve as the central location for the day-long event.
Both the men's and women's champion will be determined on April 30. The men's competition begins with the lightweight 4+ on 9:30 am. The women's lightweight 4+ launches the women's competition at 9:45 am. The men will compete in seven different events while the women will battle in six races. A point system based upon finish will determine the conference team champion. Last year, Marist College captured both the men's and women's titles, the fourth consecutive year that the Red Foxes swept the competition.
