Fairfield, Conn. -- Three Fairfield University rowers collected All-New England Region honors, as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced its annual awards. Sophomore Bethany Dominick (Medfield, Mass.), freshman Amy Ferguson (E. Amherst, N.Y.) and junior Liz Strain (Portland, Ore.) were selected to the All-New England first team, as selected by vote of the association's coaches. As members of the All-Region first team, all three rowers are now eligible for national All-America honors.
All three rowers were regulars in the varsity 8+, a unit which consistently placed throughout the season. Ferguson and Dominick also rowed with the varsity 4+ during the campaign. In addition to her All-Region honors, Strain also received All-Academic laurels from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The team, under fourth-year head coach Andre Albert, placed second at the MAAC championships in 2001.
