Hartford, Conn. -- The women's crew team participated in the Head of the New Riverfront on October 17th, placing boats in three races - women's club 8, women's 8 and women's novice 8. The race took place on the Connecticut River in Hartford.

The women's club 8 finished fourth in its respective race, crossing the finish line in 19:19.58. Amherst won the event with a time of 18:34.19. The Fairfield team consisted of coxswain Jessica DeMarco, stroke Erin Cullen, Kristen Cavanaugh, Aimee Wagner, Francis Millar, Christine Talbot, Amy Albert, Patty Campbell and bow Renee Jacques.

In women's open 8 action, the Stags took fourth place with Trinity's A boat winning the race. Fairfield finished the race with a time of 18:07.29. The open 8 boat included coxswain Jaime Capifali, stroke Correy Stephenson, Elizabeth Strain, Nikita Webb, Lelani Loder, Leigh Terry, Meghan Kolesk, Anne Cooney and bow Marina Simeone.

Fairfield placed fifth in the novice 8 race with Trinity's A boat winning the race, followed by Coast Guard. The Stags boat, which finished the race in 21:01.44, was comprised by coxswain Jessica DeMarco, stroke Jen Akunowicz, Vanessa Wrenn, Caitlin Bakum, Reagan Smith, Jennifer Hughes, Coleen King, Samantha Lombardi and bow Jen Mixon.
