2006 Season: Borton's strong defensive play helped her play a role as a freshman. She started the 2006 season as a reserve before earning her first varsity start against Rhode Island. The defender finished her season with a strong run, gaining a start in six of her last eight appearances. For the season, Borton played in 15 of the team's 19 games, with eight of those nods coming as a starter. She was on the field for both of the team's shutouts, and helped the defense keep the opposition to one goal or less in seven of her 15 games. Borton earned a spot on the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Before Fairfield: Borton led her Wyoming Valley West High School teammates to the District II finals a year ago as a starting defender/midfielder. Her strong defensive play enabled the team to capture the PIAA State Championship in 2003, as well as the District II championship in 2002 and 2003. The 2003 team earned a number two national ranking in the Circle.com poll. Borton participated in the 2005 Futures tournament, and spent time with the Valley Styx in the off season. She attended the same high school as assistant coach Lauren Thomas, who ranks among the school's all-time leaders in several goaltending categories. She enters Fairfield University as a Presidential Scholar recipient.
