FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Sixteen Fairfield University field hockey student athletes earned recogintion from America East for their academic achievement as the conference announced its annual Fall Academic Honor Roll. The awards are given to student athletes who achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA.

The awards went to Brittany Bates, Sarah Borton, Julianne Bosse, Ashton DiDonato, Chelsea Hicks, Emily Janis, Lauren Keith, Melanie Leo, Justine LeBlanc, Amanda Love, Carly McCullough, Kristen McManus, Annie Nieuwenhuis, Jill Piaquadio, Brittany Smith, and Liz Thomas. Nearly 65 percent of the field hockey team was named to the America East Fall Academic Honor Roll.

The Fairfield University field hockey team, under head coach Jackie Kane, completed its first season in America East.
