Stags Come Up Short Against Siena College, 1-0

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Hanna LeStrange scored the game's only goal just two minutes into the contest, lifting Siena College to a 1-0 win over the Fairfield University field hockey team. The Stags. LeStrange scored her second goal of the season in the victory.

Siena's Ryan Lively started the scoring chance when she sent a shot toward goal. LeStrange deflected the loose ball past Fairfield goalkeeper Liz Thomas for a 1-0 lead just 1:59 into the game. Thomas finished the game with six saves, as she allowed only one goal for the seconds straight game.

The Saints held a 13-7 advantage in shots, and an 8-4 lead in penalty corners. Emily Janis and Katherine Donovan provided most of Fairfield's scoring chances, with each player registering two shots on goal.

The Stags return to action on October 14 when they host Robert Morris at University Field. Game time is slated for 11 am.
