Field Hockey Collects National Academic Team Award From NFHCA

 FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Stags field hockey team picked up another academic award this year as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association bestowed a National Academic Team Award to the program.

The award is presented to field hockey teams which post a 3.0 or higher grade point average. The NFHCA has recogznied the Stags field hockey squad for the last six seasons, beginning with the 2003 campaign. Fairfield was one of 65 teams to receive the honor nationally in Division I.

The Stags, under head coach Jackie Kane, finished the 2008 campaign with a 4-14 overall record and a 1-4 mark in America East compeition. The team completed its second season in the America East conference.
