HANOVER, N.H. -- Kelly Rath and Emily Janis each scored a goal in the field hockey team's 2-1 come-from-behind win over Dartmouth College on the road. The victory improved the Stags road record to 2-2 on the season, giving the team a 2-8 overall mark.
The Big Green jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Jessica Saraceno pushed a shot past Fairfield University goaltender Lauren Callahan. The sophmore would not allow another goal the rest of the way, making five saves for the Stags.
Fairfield tied the game with four minutes remaining in the first half, thanks to Kelly Rath's goal. Senior Rebecca Odenwaelder set up the scoring chance with a pass to the center of the circle.
The Stags tallied the game-winning goal just a few minutes into the second half. Emily Janis received a pass from Brianna Keene, controlled the ball, and released a shot that beat Dartmouth goaltender Lauren Balukjian low for a 2-1 lead.
The defense took control of the game from that point, and kept Dartmouth off their game for the remainder of the contest. The Big Green fell to 3-2 overall following the decision.
