HANOVER, N.H. -- Boston University scored three goals in the first four minutes of the game to take control and earn a 5-0 win over the Fairfield University field hockey team. The game was played on the campus of Dartmouth College.
Sarah Hudak put the Terriers in front with a goal just 2:10 into the game, converting penalty corner passes from Ashley Parker and Amy Seaman. Just 39 seconds later, Boston University doubled its advantage when Lizzie Perreault scored off a pass from Seaman. A little more than a minute later, the deficit reached three goals when Perreault pushed in an unassisted goal at the 4:01 mark.
Boston University tallied two more goals in the second half, with both scores coming less than two minutes apart. Fairfield was outshot 24-7, but Stags goaltender Laura Callahan was able to make nine stops before yielding to Elizabeth Thomas for the final six minutes of play. Thomas was credited with one save in the contest.
Senior defender Rebecca Odenwaelder made three defensive saves for the Stags, while freshman Wendy Carbone added one more defensive stop.
