LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Elizabeth Thomas made eight saves and faced 13 shots against Rider University, as the Broncs posted a 3-0 win over the Stags this afternoon.
The Broncs took the lead at the 6:41 mark when Stephanie Walker controlled a cross from Courtney Bertos inside the circle. Walker released a shot from the middle of the circle which found a way past goaltender Elizabeth Thomas, pushing the home team into the lead at 1-0.
Rider doubled its advantage with a goal in the 19th minute, courtesy of another Bertos pass from the side of the circle. Emily Egan took the pass and unleashed a shot which caught the corner of the goal for a 2-0 lead. Walker finished off the scoring when Tricia Crotty set up the scoring opportunity with a pass deep inside the circle.
Thomas finished the game with eight saves, while Krysta Bearish made two saves to record the shutout for Rider.
