FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Four area field hockey teams will compete for the first Dita Challenge Cup championship during the month of April. Fairfield University, Hofstra University, Quinnipiac College, and Sacred Heart University will battle for the top spot in the tournament, beginning with first round play on April 1 at Hofstra. Quinnipiac will host second round action on April 8, followed by the championship round at Fairfield University on April 22 at University Field.

On championship day, the schools will host a clinic from 9 am to noon. Players of all skills are welcome at the clinic, from beginners to the varsity level.

The championship game will be played at 1 pm, with the consolation game taking place at 2:30 pm. Teams will play each other in seven-on-seven games as well as in 11-on-11 games in the first two rounds. The championship round games are full field, 70-minute contests.
