
Stags Finish Sixth At Mt. Holyoke Invitational

The Fairfield University women’s golf team was two strokes
better as a team in the second round of the Mt. Holyoke
Invitational, shooting a 339 on Sunday, to finish in 6th
place. The Stags shot a two-day 680 at the par-72 Orchards
Golf Cub in South Hadley, Mass.
Freshman Kristen
MacDonald was the Stags top finisher, placing in a
six-way tie for eighth place with a two-day 163. MacDonald
shot 83 on the second day, after opening the tournament with a
round of 80.
Two strokes back in a three-way tie for 14th place was Alicia
Esposito. The Stags sophomore shot a round of
84, following her day one 81, to finish at +21, 165. Newcomer
Annie
Sperandio improved her score by a stroke, shooting an
84 on Sunday, to finish in 25th place, with a +25, 169.
Krista
Duval and Leah
Colombo both improved in score and place on the final
day for the Stags. Duval shot a round two 88, nine strokes
better than her effort on Saturday, and moved up eight spots, into
a tie for 53rd. She finished the tournament at +41,
185. Colombo improved by four strokes, shooting 95-91 for the
tournament, and finished in a tie for 56th, at +42, 186.
The Stags will have the last weekend of September off as they
prepare for the ECAC Championship, which will be played Oct. 5-6 in
Williamsburg, Va.
