
Stags Finish 13th At ECAC Championship

The Fairfield University women’s golf team finished in
13th place at the ECAC Division I Women’s Championship, Oct.
6-7. The event was played at the Kiskiack Golf Course in
Williamsburg, Va., a par-72 course, which played 6,075 yards.
The Stags shot a team two-day total of 671, 338-333.
Kristen
MacDonald was the Stags top finisher at the event,
tying for 25th place, with a two-day 159. The rookie’s
+15 came on rounds of 79-80. Sophomore Alicia
Esposito finished in a three-way tie for 40th,
shooting 80-84, for a two-day 164, +20.
Christiana
Destefano shot 84-83 for the Stags, finishing in a
four-way tie for 45th, with a two-day 167, +23. Annie
Sperandio improved 13 strokes on the second day,
99-86, for a two-day 185, +67, to finish in 67th place. Krista
Duval shot 95-94, finishing in a 71st place tie, with
a 189, +45.
Harvard University won the event with a two-day 600, +24. The
Crimson had the top four finishers, including the winner, Claire
Sheldon at 145, +1.
The Stags will next play at the Mount St. Mary’s
Invitational, Oct. 18-20 in Emmitsburg, Md. Fairfield will
complete the fall portion of its schedule at the Sacred Heart Fall
Classic, held Oct. 27-29 at the Great River Golf Club in Milford,
Conn.
