The Fairfield University women’s golf team opened the fall portion of its 2008 schedule on Monday at the Towson Invitational.  The event, being played at Harbourtowne Resort, was 18 holes for the first round, at par-71.

A pair of sophomores, Annie Sperandio and Christina DeStefano, who both carded rounds of 82, led the Stags.  Caroline Hoey, also a sophomore, was next for the Stags with a first-round 84.  The fourth sophomore on the squad, Kristen Macdonald, was one stroke back at 85, and junior Alicia Esposito, who carded an 89, rounded out the Stags effort.

The event will conclude on Tuesday.
