
Stags Sixth At Towson Women's Invitational

The Fairfield University women’s golf team placed sixth at
the season opening Towson Women’s Invitational, shooting a
two-day team score of 663. The Stags shot 333 on the first
day, and bettered that with a 330 on Tuesday, at the par-70
Harbourtowne Golf Course.
The Stags were led by a 14th place finish from Kristen
MacDonald. The sophomore shot nine strokes better on Tuesday,
carding a 76, for a two-day 161. Christina DeStefano was next
for the Stags, in 21st place, with back-to-back rounds of 82.
Caroline Hoey was also consistent between rounds one and two, with
identical 84’s, for a 28th place finish, with a two-day
168. Annie Sperandio was two strokes back of her teammate, in
30th place, with a 170, including a day-one round of 82.
Alicia Espositio rounded out the Stags effort with a two round 177,
carding an 88 on Tuesday.
Fairfield will be back in action on Sept. 13-14 at the Dartmouth
Women’s Invitational at Hanover Country Club in Hanover, N.H.
