
Women's Golf Moves Up To Fifth Place At CSU Women's Fall Classic

The Fairfield University women’s golf team moved up one
spot in the second round to place fifth at the 2008 CSU
Women’s Fall Classic on Tuesday. Fairfield shot 330 as a team
in the second round, five strokes better than in the first round,
and finished with a two-day score of 665, +97.
Alicia Esposito was the Stags top finisher, shooting a second-round
80 to finish in a 19th place tie. She was four strokes better
then her first round score and moved up 10 spots on Tuesday.
Claire Rothschild was the next finisher for Fairfield, carding a
two-day 166 and finishing in a tie for 23rd place.
Kristen MacDonald shot 84 on Tuesday, to finish the tournament in
27th place with a two-day score of 167. Christiana Destefano
finished with a two-day 168 good for a 29th place tie. She
was eight strokes better on Tuesday, with a round of 80 and moved
up 10 spots in the second round. Caroline Hoey carded a 92 on
Tuesday, two strokes better then her first round score, to finish
50th with a two-day 186.
The host Charleston Southern University won the event, played at
the Par-71 Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston, S.C.
Hanna Coles of Radford and Olivia Higgins of Charleston Southern
carded identical scores of 149 to share the individual crown.
