Long Island University shot a two-day team total 700 to capture the 2997 Fairfield Women's Spring Invitational at the Crown Park Golf Course in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The individual winner was Simone DeSouza who played the par-72, 6,004 yard course in a two-day total of 159, six strokes ahead of the runner up.

DeSouza played consistently, shooting a 79 in the first round to take a three-stroke lead over Emma Lister of LIU. She shot an 80 on day two, holding off a charge from Heather Pothier, also of LIU, who shot a second round low 79. Potheir finished second at 165, while Lister and Rachelle Rundell, of California-PA finished in a tie for third place at 171. Hartford's Juliana Carrillo shot a two-day 172 for fifth place, followed by Alicia Esposito (174), Courtney Richardson (177), and Liz McCabe (179) all of Fairfield. Sandra Gonzalez (180) of Cal-PA was ninth while Lynze Murphy of Fairfield and Erica Chong of LIU tied for 10th with two-round 181's. Fairfield's Krista Duval finished in a tie for 21st place at the event, shooting a two-day 190.

Fairfield University started the tournament on a hot note, shooting a team-best 345 in the first round, building a 13 stroke lead, over Cal-PA. LIU, which shot a 358 in the first round, carded a tournament-best 342 on day two, while Cal shot 350 and the Stags 363, to finish in second and third place respectively. California posted a 707, one shot ahead of the Stags 708. The University of Hartford finished fourth with a two-day 729, followed by Hofstra University, 761, and St. Mary's College-IN, 834.
