The Fairfield University women's golf team placed fourth at the Fairfield University Invitational, played during spring break, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The event was played at the Par 72, 5,915-yard Possom Trot course and the Par-72, 5,938-yard Heather Glen Course over two-days.
The Stags shot a 373 on the first day as a team, and shot 384 on day two, for a team total of 757. Long Island University won the event, with a two-day team total of 676.
Courtney Richardson was the Stags top finisher, shooting a team-low round of 90 in the first round. She carded a 97 on the second day, to finish in 14th place, with a two-day 187. Amy Bordonaro kept pace, finishing one stroke behind in 15th place. The difference between the two teammates was the added stroke on day-one, for Bordonaro's 91.
Krista Duval finished in a two-way tie for 18th place, shotting a two-day 193. Her second day round of 95 was good for team-best. Lynze Murphy equaled the second-day 95, and finished in 20th place with a two-day 196. Lindsay Ryan rounded out the Stags effort with a two-day 198. She shot 94 in the first round and 104 in the second, finishing in a tie for 21st place.
