WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's golf team took home eighth place in the Wellesley Inn Hartford Invitational at the Wampanoag Country Club, over the weekend.
The Stags finished the 15-team event with a score of 360. Amherst College took home first in the team event with a round of 344.
Freshman Allison Schick (North Kingston, RI/North Kingston) finished the par 73 event tied for fourth, with an 82 over 18 holes. Schick finished with a 40 on the back nine.
Junior Beth Costello (Rumford, RI/St. Mary's Academy-Bay View), and Sophomore Colleen Travers (Arlington, MA/Arlington) each shot an 89 on the day. Junior Trish Tolerico (Throop, Pa/Scranton Prep) struggled through a tough round of 100, and freshman Jill Macari (Reading, MA/Reading Memorial) shot a 103.
Fairfield returns to action on April 18 in a quad match at Monmouth University, with Lehigh, Long Island University, and Monmouth, at the Suneagles Golf Club.
