LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - After leading the competition with an opening-round 79, freshman Liz McCabe (Wellesley, Mass.) slipped to second-place with a two-day total of 168 to lead the Fairfield University women's golf team at the 2004 JetBlue MAAC Golf Championships.
Siena won the two-team competition, shooting 353 in the final round of the 36-hole tournament giving the Saints a two-day total of 704. Fairfield, who led after the first day with a 347, finished round two with a 362 for a two-day total of 709.
Junior Allie Schick (North Kingstown, R.I.), who claimed the 2003 McLeod award, which is presented to the MAAC individual champion, trailed McCabe by two shots, taking third-place.
Junior Jess Doyle (Milton, Mass.) took sixth-place and senior Colleen Travers (Arlington, Mass.) placed seventh overall as they shot 185 and 187, respectively. Sophomore Lindsey Ryan (Berlin, Conn.) rounded out the field for the Stags, shooting 198 to finish in 10th place.
