The Fairfield University women's golf team shot a three-day team score of 1,056 at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. The Stags had their best round of the tournament, shooting a 345, on the final day of competition.
The Stags top finisher was Courtney Richardson who shot back-to-back rounds of 84 over the weekend, and with her opening round of 89, finished at 257 (+41). Lindsey Ryan was seven stroke back of her teammate in sixth place. She shot a 264 (+48) for the weekend, saving her best round for Sunday as well, 89-90-85.
Amy Bordonaro was seventh at the championship, with a three-day 270, +54. She shot 98-85-87 to finish strong. Krista Duval was eighth with her 275 (+59) three day effort. She bookmarked a second round 97 with rounds of 89 on Friday and Sunday. Lynze Murphy rounded out the Stags effort, one stroke back of Duval, 276 (+60) She played a stroke better each round of the championship, 93-92-91.
The event was played at the Magnolia Golf Course in Orlando, Fla., par -72, playing 5,914 yards,
Siena College won the event, shooting 972.
