HANOVER, N.H. - Junior Allie Schick (No. Kingstown, R.I.) shot a collegiate career-low and finished in eighth-place individually to lead the Fairfield University women's golf team to an eighth-place showing at the Dartmouth Invitational at Hanover Country Club.
Princeton had three of the top four individual scorers, including tournament medallist Avery Kiser to win the team title with a combined score of 599. Boston College placed second with a 626 and St. John's came in third with a 641, besting the host Big Green by one stroke. The Stags overcame an opening-round score of 340, shooting 329 on Sunday and climbing from 11th to eighth-place.
Fairfield freshman Liz McCabe (Wellesley, Mass.) was impressive in her first collegiate tournament, posting the second lowest score for the Stags with a two-day total of 164 (+20). Juniors Jill Macari (Reeding, Mass.) and Jess Doyle (Milton, Mass.) both shot a 175 (+31) and senior Colleen Travers (Arlington, Mass.) scored 179 (+35).
Fairfield is back in action Sept. 21-22 as they travel to Richmond, R.I., for the Bryant Invitational.
