Richmond, RI-Amidst a field of 13 teams which included the likes of Holy Cross, Boston University, and Hofstra, the Fairfield University women's golf team posted their best team score in recent history with a second place overall finish at this weekend's Bryant Women's Invitational at Beaver River Golf Club.
Beth Costello and Lindsay Browder were the two top finishers for the Stags. Costello fired a first round score of 86 then shaved two strokes off for a second round 84. In total she scored 170 placing her in a tie for eight place. Browder opened with an 85 then dropped a stroke for a second round 86. Her 171 finished placed here eleventh overall.
Also scoring in the top 25 were Fairfield's Allison Schick who shot a 176, with scores of 89 and 87 placing her 21st. Two strokes behind was Jill Macari who shot 93 and 85 for a combined 178, good for 22nd. Colleen Travers rounded out the Fairfield squad with a two round total of 190, placing here 37th overall.
The Stags are back in action this weekend when they travel to Holyoke, MA for the Mount Holyoke Invitational on both Saturday and Sunday.
