Richmond, R.I. - The Fairfield University women's golf team posted a team score of 704 to take eighth place overall at the 15-team Bryant Invitational held at the Beaver River Golf Club in Richmond, R.I.
Dartmouth won the event with a score of 644 while Columbia's Alana Johnson took medallist honors with a two-day total of 151. The Lions finished in second-place with a score of 649.
Juniors Allie Schick (North Kingstown, R.I.) and Jill Macari (Reading, Mass.) were the two top finishers for the Stags. Schick scored an opening round 85 (+14) and then shaved two strokes off for a two-day total of 168 to tie for 17th place. Macari got off to a slow start, shooting a first round 91 (+20) but came back strong on the second day, scoring an 83 (+12) to tie for 25th place with a score of 174.
Freshman Liz McCabe (Wellesley, Mass.) finished two strokes back of Macari, posting a 176 to tie for 29th place. Senior Colleen Travers (Arlington, Mass) and freshman Lindsey Ryan (Berlin, Conn.) finished with two-day totals of 186 and 193, respectively.
The Stags are back in action this weekend when they travel to Holyoke, Mass., for the Mount Holyoke Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28.
