REXFORD, N.Y. - The Fairfield women's golf team finished second in a Tri-Match with Siena and Albany on Saturday afternoon at Edison Golf Club in Rexford, N.Y. The Saints hosted the one-day event that was played in cold and rainy conditions.
Siena led the event with a team total of 326 while the Stags took second, posting a score of 337 and the Danes rounded out the three-team field with a total score of 357.
The Saints took the top three spots individually while Fairfield junior Allison Schick (North Kingston, R.I) and classmate Jill Macari (Reading, Mass.) rounded out the top-five as they tied with a score of 82 (+10). Junior Jessica Doyle (Canton, Mass.) trailed by one shot, recovering from a front-nine 45 with an impressive 38 to take sixth with a collegiate-best 83 (+11).
Senior Colleen Travers (Arlington, Mass.) and freshman Liz McCabe (Wellesley, Mass.) rounded out the field for the Stags with a 90 (+18) and 91 (+13) to take 12th and 13th place, respectively.
Fairfield is back in action on Fri.-Sat., Oct. 10-11 as they head to New Britain, Conn., to take part in the Central Connecticut State Invitational.
