NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Fairfield University women's golf team finished third out of the ten-team field at the Central Connecticut State University Invitational at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Conn., on Saturday afternoon. All five Stag golfers finished in the top-25.

Long Island University led the event with a team total of 675. The Blue Devils took second, posting a score of 683 while the Stags finished six shots back, scoring a 689.

Individually, Amherst's Kathryn Kuchefski took medallist honors while Fairfield junior Allison Schick (North Kingston, R.I) led the Stags with a 166 (+21) to tie for ninth place.

Juniors Jill Macari (Reading, Mass.) and Jessica Doyle (Canton, Mass.) tied for 16th overall, shooting a two-day total of 174 (+29) while freshman Liz McCabe (Wellesley, Mass.) was one-shot back, tying for 18th place with a 175 (+29).

Sophomore Lindsey Ryan (Berlin, Conn.) rounded out the field for the Stags with a 179 (+34) to tie for 24th place.

Fairfield is back in action on Fri.-Sat., Oct. 17-18 as they head to Hempstead, N.Y., to take part in the Hofstra Invitational.
