NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Senior Allie Schick (North Kingstown, R.I.) and sophomore Liz McCabe (Wellesley, Mass.) finished in the top-10 to lead the Fairfield University women's golf team to a third place finish at the 12-team Blue Devil Golf Invitational at the 5,849-yard, par-72 Stanley Golf Course on Sunday afternoon.

Mount Holyoke College won the event with a team total 674, besting the University of Hartford by two-strokes. The Stags shot a 678 for third, edging out host Central Connecticut State and Albany who tied for fourth with a two-day total of 682. The Blue Devils' Leah Steinmiller took medallist honors with a 157 (+13).

Schick carded rounds of 81 and 84 to finish with a 165 (+21), good for seventh overall while McCabe improved by three-strokes on the second day, shooting an 82, for a two-day total of 167 (+23) to take 10th place.

Junior Jessica Doyle finished in 20th place overall with a 172 (+28) and sophomore Amy Bordonaro (Berlin, Conn.) finished four strokes back to take 27th place. Senior Jill Macari (Reading, Mass.) tied for 33rd with a 178 (+34).

The Stags play in their final fall tournament next weekend as they travel to Bethpage, N.Y., to participate in the Hofstra Invitational on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16.
