Women's Lacrosse Announces Signing of Five Players to NLI's

Fairfield University women’s lacrosse coach Beth Loffredo announced the signing of five student-athletes to national letters of intent to join the Stags program in the fall of 2009.  Loffredo announced Marisa Aubin (Needham, Mass.), Alex Clark (Ridgewood, N.J.), sisters Lauren and Michelle Miller (Wantagh, N.Y.), and Caroline Wyatt (Berlin, Md.).

“I am excited to welcome this group of players to the Fairfield family next fall,” Loffredo said.  “They are a talented group of student-athletes who will be a pleasure to watch develop and play over the course of their careers.”

Aubin is a 5-foot-6 midfielder and defender completing her senior year at Needham High School.  She is a Boston Globe All-Star and played for the Lower New England Team at nationals.  She was named to the Bay State All-Star First Team as a junior and has helped her squad post a three-year mark of 41-14-3.

Clark, a senior at Ridgewood High School, is a 5-foot-5 midfielder, helping her squad to a three-year mark of 53-6.  She was named to the Stars First Team Northern New Jersey and Second Team All-Bergen County after scoring 43 goals and dishing out 22 assists as a junior.  Clark is also a two-time member of the US Lacrosse National Tournament, playing for Team One in 2007.

Lauren Miller, a 5-foot-5 attack, is currently attending Choate Rosemary Hall (Wallingford, Conn.).  As a senior at Wantaugh High School she netted 27 goals and dished out 11 assists, and helped her squad to a 40-7-1 mark over her four seasons.

Michelle Miller, a 5-foot-5 defender, is currently attending The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.)  after graduating from Wantaugh.  With the Warriors, she led her team to a four-year mark of 40-7-1, including a perfect 12-0 mark her freshman season.

Wyatt is a 5-foot-7 midfielder who is completing her high school career at Worcester Preparatory School.  As a junior she led her team in scoring, leading the squad to an ESIAC conference championship and her third year as a member of the ESIAC All-Conference team.  She was named the team’s rookie of the year as a freshman and the most improved player as a sophomore.

Fairfield University is a member of the 10-school NCAA Division I Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.  The Stags posted a an 8-10 overall mark a season ago and advanced to the MAAC Semifinal for the second straight season, after posting a 5-2 mark in regular season play.
