
Coleman, White Named MAAC Players Of The Week

Fairfield University women’s lacrosse players Kristen
Coleman (Potomac, Md.) and Rebecca White (Spring Lake, N.J.) were
named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Lacrosse League
offensive and defensive players of the week. It is the first
awards of the year for the Stags, as they posted a 1-1 record on
the week.
Coleman, a freshman, led the Stags with seven goals during the week
to earn offensive accolades. In her first collegiate action,
against #13 Yale, she netted three goals. She would improve
on that in the Stags first win, a defeat of Sacred Heart, as she
touched net four times. Her seven goals came on 11 shots,
giving her a .636 shooting percentage.
White, a junior, was named the defensive player of the week for the
first time in her career. A graduate of St. Rose High School,
White led the Stags in both caused turnovers, five, and ground
balls, five, in the two games. She had four of each in the
Stags near upset of #13 Yale in the season opener. In the win over
Sacred Heart she added on the offensive end of the field, with
three goals and an assist.
Fairfield is 1-1 on the year and resumes action on Wednesday at St.
Mary’s College in California, with a 6:30 p.m. eastern
start.
