Rebecca White was the next Stag to tally a goal, for the 4-0 lead, and was followed by Erin Rigby, Kylee Martin and Kate Reardon, for a 7-0 halftime advantage. The run continued in the beginning of the second half as Abbey Goodwin netted a goal, and Rigby put home her second, for the 9-0 lead, with 28:36 to play.
Saint Mary's would finally get on the board at the 26:31 mark of the second half, but the Stags would answer each tally from the host, to finish the game on a 6-4 run. Cristin Lucena scored, and was followed by back-to-back goals by Kim Fuchs. Amy Kelleher netted the Stags 13th goal, with 6:18 to play, and Nina Tedeschi gave the Stags a 14-3 lead at the 5:28 mark. Bare wrapped up the Stags offensive effort with a tally with 44 seconds left in the game.
Rigby finished the game with three points, including her two goals, and a ground ball. White also had three points, with two assists, as well as two caused turnovers. Fuchs finished with two goals, while Kelleher had a goal and an assist, as well as three ground balls. Coleman led the team with four points, five caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Fairfield out shot Saint Mary's 42-14 in the game, while also holding a 29-24 advantage in ground balls. The Stags committed six fewer turnovers, 38-32, and won 14 of 22 draws in the contest.
The Stags are back in action on Wednesday, March 15 as they play their home opener, hosting Boston College.
