The Fairfield University women’s lacrosse team earned its 15th consecutive win, 17-13, over visiting LeMoyne College Friday night on Lessing Field.  The Stags improve to 15-1 on the season, while the Dolphins drop to 11-5.  The win snaps a five-game series-losing streak for the Stags.

Kristen Coleman would tie the game, 12-12, with an unassisted goal with 9:22 to play in the game.  Kylee Martin would follow only 48 seconds later for the fifth lead change, and LeMoyne knotted the score at 13-13 at the 7:59 mark.  With 6:52 to play in the contest Abbey Goodwin netted a free position shot for what would turn into the game-winning goal, with 6:52 to play.  Erin Rigby netted a free position shot at 5:55 and Rebecca White scored goals with 3:24 and 1:01 to play for the win.

Coleman finished with a game-high six points, giving her 78 for the year, and the single-season program mark all to herself.  She netted five goals, as well as causing a game-high four turnovers.  Five other Stags, Goodwin, White, Martin, Rigby and Kelly Barnes, each touched net twice for the Stags, who out shot the visitor 36-27.

Lauren Chatnik picked up the win in goal for the Stags, making nine saves, including four in the second half, while allowing just five second half goals.  Her LeMoyne counterpart, Samantha Falcone, recorded 14 saves, with eight coming in the first half.

The Stags will close out the regular season on Sunday, hosting Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Lacrosse League foe Siena College at noon, with a Senior Day ceremony preceding the contest.
